TaskBridge, in partnership with the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO), conducted a political economy analysis of cross-border trade to examine the dynamics, governance structures, and power relations shaping trade flows between Somalia and its neighboring country Kenya.
The study assessed regulatory frameworks, informal trade networks, security challenges, and economic interdependencies, identifying barriers to formalization and opportunities for trade facilitation.
By leveraging stakeholder engagement, data-driven policy analysis, and economic modeling, the analysis provided actionable recommendations for enhancing trade governance, promoting economic integration, and strengthening resilience in cross-border markets.
